TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Burning fat for a good cause. The East Texas Adventure Boot Camp held a free workout this morning in Tyler's Bergfeld Park, asking only for a small monetary contribution or canned goods which would then be donated to the East Texas Food Bank.

"You're working out for those that wish they could," said Jessika Loving, Owner and President of There East Texas Adventure Boot Camp. "[Give it] Everything you have right now."

It's a full workout. Running, jumping, sit-ups and push-ups. All to help less-fortunate East Texans that can't afford to buy a nutritious meal.

Today, these women are working out for free. But, they are making a contribution - not only to themselves by getting in shape, but, also to fellow East Texans by donating whatever they can to the East Texas Food Bank.

"What we're excited about is that one dollar; only one dollar. . . will provide 8 meals," said Jessika Loving.

53-year-old Nancy Elliott says she has lost more than 140 pounds since she started working out a few years ago. And, she thanks Adventure Boot Camp for providing the motivation.

"I got tired of being tired, and I just - I knew there was more to life than just working and going home and being so tired that you didn't want to do anything else," said Nancy Elliott. "And, now my family can't keep up with me."

"We're so fortunate we have food that we can get at anytime," said Jamie Boyd, Assistant Vice President of Citizens First Bank. "But, there's less fortunate in East Texas that need our help, and that's what this is all about today."

"The food bank needs all the help we can get," said Nancy Elliott. "It's a small price is some can goods."

Today was the only free day of workouts offered by The East Texas Adventure Boot Camp. But, they do have a four week program that is just about to start.

They have both co-ed and all female camps. If interested in joining, just head on over to their website: www.easttexasfitness.com.
